Matter Sustainability: Doing More to Waste Less

Summer is in full swing here at Matter, and it’s wild. Yeah, you heard us right: WILD. OK maybe it’s not slip-n-sliding-to-Coolio’s “Fantastic Voyage” or ghost-riding-a-Maserati-in-Palm-Springs wild, but definitely wild in the seeing-each-other-in-person, offices-opening-back-up, oh-you’re-taller-than-I-thought-you-were sense of the word. And now that we have a renewed sense of purpose and our collective energy to back it up, we’ve got work to do. Wild work. But what… Read more »

Today, we’re celebrating International Non-Binary People’s Day! Non-Binary People’s Day is recognized around the world as an occasion to shine a light on those who identify as non-binary and celebrate the rich diversity of the community.  The term “non-binary” describes someone who does not identify exclusively with the binary gender terms of male or female. Non-binary people may identify as being both a man and a woman or as falling completely outside these categories. Some non-binary people also identify as transgender, though not all… Read more »

Joe Skoniecki and Sarah Delahunty share their creative processes and personal sentiments behind Matter’s newest Pride animations.  Rockets. Shooting for the stars. Reaching beyond. The endless possibility of space. That’s what I wrote down in my work notebook when I started sketching out ideas for… Read more »

The Importance of Diversity and Recognizing Black History Month

February is Black History Month, and that can bring about interesting opportunities for reflection at any workplace, but especially at an agency like ours. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the ethnic makeup of the PR industry in the U.S. is nearly 88% white — with just more than 8% African American, and an even smaller number of Asian and Latinx American professionals accounting for the rest of the professionals in our field.
