Newburyport, Mass. –To support current and projected growth, Matter Communications, Inc., a full-service public relations agency specializing in high-technology and consumer markets, announced today that it has doubled the size of its offices in both Newburyport, Massachusetts, and Providence, Rhode Island. While many of the top PR firms reported reductions in staff and revenue during a challenging 2009, according to recently published data from O’Dwyer’s, Matter experienced growth and is poised to do so again in 2010. A positive fiscal outlook combined with the physical build-out of its facilities has allowed for the near-term hiring of additional PR professionals to service the agency’s expanding client roster.

“Since our founding, Matter has striven to follow two guiding principles: clients for life and employees for life; investing in our physical offices reflects that aim,” said Scott Signore, principal and CEO of Matter Communications, Inc. “This expansion allows our current and future teams to create and carry out the business-driving PR our client partners expect from us in a spacious, productive environment.”

With a strong emphasis on collaboration and accountability, Matter assembles effective, talented teams that draw upon varied in-house and agency experience. This blended, open approach empowers Matter team members to harness their individual backgrounds and specialties to deliver measurable, high-impact results for a broad range of clients.

“During my three years at Matter, I have found it to be an extraordinarily client-focused, innovative agency, and I’m proud to be a part of teams that fuse the best of communications professionals, former journalists and copywriters,” added Ariane Doud, account manager. “Having experienced life at other agencies, I can say that it comes as no surprise that Matter consistently achieves growth.”

Named a “Best Place to Work” by the Boston Business Journal, Matter currently employs 36 communications professionals and is anticipating the need for another 12 by the end of 2010. Matter offers outstanding professional growth opportunities, formalized training and development, mentoring in a small, team-oriented environment, competitive compensation and excellent benefits. Additional benefits include:

  • liberal health, dental and vision plans
  • short-term disability insurance
  • 401(k) plan and company match provision
