Matter Supports Launch of Boston Law Firm Media Professionals Group

By Matter

After a three-year hiatus, the Boston chapter of the national Law Firm Media Professionals group (LMFP) has officially relaunched thanks in large part to support from Matter’s professional services group.

The Boston chapter kicked off with a highly anticipated and well-attended event at the Massachusetts Bar Association on October 17, with special guests from the Boston Business Journal (BBJ). Law firm media professionals and public relations executives from around the city networked over a wine-and-beer reception, courtesy of Pierce Atwood LLP, before receiving the inside scoop on pitching BBJ reporters from editor, Doug Banks, and law/money reporter, Greg Ryan. Beyond discussing what types of stories interest the BBJ, Banks and Ryan elaborated on what not to pitch and shared changes afoot at the BBJ’s approach in covering the city’s dynamic business and legal communities.

Matter Director Claire Papanastasiou, head of the agency’s professional services arm, who is one of the founding members of the original 15-year old LFMP group based in New York City, serves on the Boston LFMP Steering Committee along with Judy Rakowsky of the Liberty Square Group, Lisa Murray of Trevi Communications, Konstantin Shishkin of Goodwin LLP, and Paul Boynton of Todd & Weld LLP.
