Matter is a Brand Elevation Agency unifying public relations, social media, creative services and search marketing into strategic, content-rich communications campaigns that inspire action and build value.
Principal & CEO
Scott Signore is principal and CEO of Matter, a brand elevation agency with five offices nationwide, and a five-time “Agency of the Year” award winner. Scott launched Matter in 2003, just as multiple disciplines of communications (PR, social media, creative services and search marketing) began to converge in meaningful and provocative ways. It was at this intersection that Matter set its sights and thrived, developing integrated storytelling programs for brands – across multiple mediums – for clients such as CVS Pharmacy, Lojack, Akamai, Harman and many others.
Since its inception, Scott has grown Matter into a $15M+ enterprise with 120+ talented staff, a dedicated in-house creative services group as well as an agency that regularly wins “Best Place to Work” awards from the Boston Globe, Boston Business Journal and others. In August of 2010, PRWeek named Scott one of the industry’s “40 Under 40? for the successful launch of a profitable PR agency, having grown by 20 percent or more for several years running – a trend that continues today. Prior to launching Matter, Scott was senior vice president at Boston-based FitzGerald Communications, now part of Fleishman-Hillard, managing high-profile accounts including ADT, Tyco Electronics M/A-COM and Texas Instruments.Contact
As one of the founding employees and a principal at Matter, Patty helps to manage the agency as it continues to grow, and provides strategic advice and counsel to several key agency clients on all matters related to public relations, including social media, corporate communications, brand management and product PR to name a few.
With two decades of public relations experience, Patty has the ability to combine a strategic view of communications and corporate positioning with a keen eye for short-term opportunities for publicity via traditional public relations and social media. Having worked with both consumer and high technology brands, Patty is able to synthesize complex data points and communications challenges quickly, and the experience with both kinds of PR programs have helped hone her ability to blend creativity with research-based PR programs that yield high-impact business results for Matter clients.
Prior to Matter, Patty held senior management positions at international public relations firms including Golin/Harris International, Hill & Knowlton, and Weber Shandwick. In the hours she’s away from the glamorous life of the PR agency, Patty takes time to practice her favorite forms of meditation: reading anything she can get her hands on, writing the next Great American novel, and playing ‘Monopoly’ and ‘Life’ with her husband and three children. She is also a devoted runner, and has logged approximately 27,000 miles (more than enough to circle the world) since graduating from The College of the Holy Cross with a B.A. in English.Contact

Lydia has been fascinated with PR from the moment she studied its role in Lexus’ unlikely rise to the top of the luxury automotive market. In the decade since, she has consistently challenged herself, her teams, and her clients to understand what motivates audiences, and how, when and where to connect with them in order to drive brand awareness and sales. As the PR industry has changed, her tactics have evolved with it. Lydia has led every type of campaign – from a strictly byline-driven program for major corporations like Toshiba to interactive marketing campaigns that leverage media relations, social, graphics, video and more.
Lydia has worked with all types of technology companies, from the enterprise to mobile applications, but the common thread is that they all appreciate her ability to couple a critical eye with an optimistic outlook. Lydia started her career in San Francisco with Vantage PR, a boutique technology firm, and most recently served as a Vice President at PAN Communications in Boston. As Vice President at Matter, she leads our Portland, Oregon office. Lydia holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina’s School of Media and Journalism. She spends her spare time taking too many photos of her rescue pups, Boogie and Noodle, getting wrapped up in way too many historical fiction novels, and hating Duke.Contact

With a career born and raised on business to business technology PR, Andrea’s experience, leadership style and industry knowledge stem from work in the trenches of block and tackle communications. She runs a variety of media, social and creative programs across a mix of emerging growth and established brand technology clients.
A hands-on leader committed to crafting unique programs and supporting story angles that compel her clients’ audiences to action, Andrea works closely with account teams to ensure day-to-day tactics drive results that support overall business goals – from building brand awareness to generating sales leads.
Andrea believes in the power of relationships, whether through formal initiatives like influencer relations and customer and partner programs or nurturing the increasingly intertwined networks of our personal and professional lives. She maintains that the ability to connect with one another on a human level is the foundation of all we strive for as communicators, which may raise her husband’s eyebrows in the grocery store checkout line, but does wonders for elevating her clients’ profiles.Contact
Everyone at Entelo is over the moon about the new video! We are using it immediately, and it will go a long way in helping us communicate our value. The messaging is spot-on, and it will have a VERY long shelf life. As a company that partners closely with recruiters, we understand and appreciate the importance of a great brand story. Thanks again for working with me to deliver such an excellent result.
Our experience working with the Matter team has been incredibly positive. They are metrics-oriented, proactive, and have a great work ethic. One of my favorite things about working with Matter is the proactive energy they bring to our account. They bring new ideas to the table in terms of editorial opportunities, media events, customer engagement programs, and even competitors to watch. Knowing that an entire team lives, eats, and breaths my business just as I do on the client-side helps me sleep a little better at night.
Every person on the Matter team stood out as incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, and personable. They've been a tremendous asset to our firm and opened us up to new approaches to market ourselves--from our website to PR. Accurate communication, transparency, and positive energy flows from the team in all that they do. Regardless of the size of the task, they are always ready to jump in and tackle it! And the results speak for themselves.
Matter is a fantastic agency partner and extension of the CVS Pharmacy communications team. The Matter team knows how to develop and nurture relationships with media and also understands the importance of client service. They consistently go above and beyond to create meaningful public relations campaigns that produce quality results.
I've found Matter to be one of the most professional, proactive and responsive agencies I've ever worked with and I've worked with a lot. They really are an extension of our team and provide well considered consultancy at a senior level. They are always on top of things no matter how busy. I trust them explicitly to brief executives properly and to do what they have promised.
Matter has a special division called Precision that works with Start Ups. When we were reviewing PR Companies, the Precision Team told me they understand the challenges, idiosyncrasies, and budgetary restrictions of new companies and know how to get results. They were being modest. It is a pleasure and a delight to work with Matter. If they weren't so much fun to work with I would say that our Matter Team is all business because they plan their work, work their plan, and get results. Incredible results.
