Scott Signore is principal and CEO of Matter, a brand elevation agency with six offices nationwide, and an eleven-time “Agency of the Year” award winner. Scott launched Matter in 2003, just as multiple disciplines of communications (PR, social media, creative services and digital marketing) began to converge in meaningful and provocative ways. It was at this intersection that Matter set its sights and thrived, developing integrated storytelling programs for brands – across multiple mediums – for clients such as CVS Pharmacy, JDA Software, Harman and many others.
Since its inception, Scott has grown Matter into a $17M+ enterprise with 160+ talented staff, a dedicated in-house creative services group as well as an agency that regularly wins “Best Place to Work” awards from the Boston Globe, Boston Business Journal and others. In August of 2010, PRWeek named Scott one of the industry’s “40 Under 40" for the successful launch of a profitable PR agency, having grown by 20 percent or more for several years running – a trend that continues today. As one of the founding employees and a principal at Matter, Patty helps to manage the agency as it continues to grow, and provides strategic advice and counsel to several key agency clients on all matters related to public relations, including social media, corporate communications, brand management and product PR to name a few.
With two decades of public relations experience, Patty has the ability to combine a strategic view of communications and corporate positioning with a keen eye for short-term opportunities for publicity via traditional public relations and social media. Having worked with both consumer and high technology brands, Patty is able to synthesize complex data points and communications challenges quickly, and the experience with both kinds of PR programs have helped hone her ability to blend creativity with research-based PR programs that yield high-impact business results for Matter clients.
Prior to Matter, Patty held senior management positions at international public relations firms including Golin/Harris International, Hill & Knowlton, and Weber Shandwick. In the hours she’s away from the glamorous life of the PR agency, Patty takes time to practice her favorite forms of meditation: reading anything she can get her hands on, writing the next Great American novel, and playing ‘Monopoly’ and ‘Life’ with her husband and three children. She is also a devoted runner, and has logged approximately 27,000 miles (more than enough to circle the world) since graduating from The College of the Holy Cross with a B.A. in English.Contact
Mandy’s passion lies in helping companies from start-ups to large consumer brands create and execute integrated communications strategies through traditional and social media channels. She runs agency operations with a laser focus on client service and agency growth and acts as a senior strategist and resident brainstormer on key accounts.
Prior to joining Matter, Mandy was the Managing Director of SHIFT Communications’ San Francisco office where she was involved with B2B and B2C companies of all sizes, including: Google, RSA Conference, Bing, Sony Online Entertainment and Quiznos, among others. As a PR practitioner, she’s helped startups and established companies alike identify and hone their market relevancy to shape the strategies that help businesses grow. An award-winning writer and author with significant experience across industries, Jennifer has counseled some of the biggest brands in the world as well as small brands with big dreams.

As General Manager of Matter’s Digital Marketing service, Jeff is responsible for helping elevate brands in the modern digital marketing landscape. Through his experience as a management consultant for B-to-B and B-to-C brands, and years as consumer packaged goods marketer, Jeff excels at helping brands establish a strong strategic foundation and creating breakthrough campaigns that drive real ROI. Jeff is passionate about helping brands define winning and differentiated business models to compete in today’s fast changing categories.
Prior to joining Matter, Jeff was VP of Marketing for High Liner Foods and worked as a strategy consultant in Boston, San Francisco, and London. Jeff is also deeply passionate about social entrepreneurship and serves as a mentor for startup to both the Duke Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Maine Center for Entrepreneurs. General Manager & Executive Producer
As a former journalist, George brings an editorial perspective to marketing and communications. He joins Matter to lead mLive, a creative live video offering that combines TV-quality production with precision audience targeting. He believes that all marketing – even if it’s paid or owned – should be rooted in earning people’s attention.
George joins Matter from Weber Shandwick where he was an executive vice president of Integrated Media and a co-founder and leader of Weber’s global live broadcasting unit. He has produced more than 125 live shows for brands that have been watched by millions of people around the world. His live video clients have included Harvard University, John Hancock, Ocean Spray, Honeywell and the Broad Institute.
George is an avid cyclist and a voracious reader. He tries to read at least one Charles Dickens novel every year to remind himself of the elegance of masterful storytelling.Contact
Executive Vice President
Tim Hurley applies more than two decades of public relations, communications and social media experience to his clients in technology, healthcare, professional services and consumer segments. He has deep expertise in developing successful communications strategies for emerging growth companies and start-ups, as well as global brands. Tim also brings great passion and experience in helping companies of all sizes to formulate compelling messages and story lines to raise awareness, secure high profile business/financial and industry media coverage and reach their revenue goals.
Previously, Tim founded ThinkMedia PARTNERS, a full-service public relations and social media firm which was acquired by Matter in 2012. He also spent nearly five years as a Managing Director at an integrated marketing firm, BluePoint Venture Marketing, heading up the firm’s PR and Social Media Practices. Prior to BluePoint, Tim spent more than fourteen years at Porter Novelli (PN) and Copithorne & Bellows (C&B). Vice President & Managing Director
A businessman in a communicator’s clothing, Jesse is laser-focused on driving PR results that actually mean something to his clients’ businesses. Jesse has honed his skills on both the agency and client side of the table, developing cross-functional knowledge that allows him to fully understand how Matter’s work impacts his clients’ business results. A PR agency veteran, Jesse held senior management positions at Financial Dynamics, an international PR/IR agency, and at FitzGerald Communications (now part of Fleishman-Hillard), prior to joining Matter. Jesse has also held the in-house positions of director of corporate communications at Signature BioScience and marketing specialist in the desktop products group of Agfa. Through this well-rounded background, Jesse has developed skills in PR, marketing, business development, fundraising and shareholder communications.
Believing that the best PR practices can be applied to any company, Jesse brings this expertise to bear for Matter clients in a variety of diverse industries like supply chain, e-commerce, ERP, digital imaging, and consumer packaged goods. With more than fifteen years in PR, Anne creates and manages strategic programs that drive business and brand awareness for B2B clients. She draws on her experience with both established international brands and start-ups to structure programs that bring a fresh, aggressive approach to communications priorities for clients, creating successful campaigns that span traditional and social media.
Anne always has an eye on what’s next and how to maximize the reach of important messaging and content for her clients – thinking about long-term goals as well as the immediate positive impact PR can have on businesses. As Vice President, Maria Brown heads up Matter’s Boulder office having recently relocated from the company’s headquarters in Newburyport, MA. With more than 15 years of experience within the high tech and professional services industries, Maria provides strategic advice and counsel to clients on all matters related to public relations, including social media, corporate communications, crisis communications, brand management, product positioning, and analyst relations.
Maria has a strong background working with companies of all sizes — from start-ups to large enterprises, and has grown a particular passion for building brands and helping each communicate a consistent story to both internal and external audiences.

With more than a decade of PR and social media experience with retailers, consumer packaged goods brands, tech start-ups and corporations big and small, Matt “Mendo” helps clients elevate their profiles and stand out from competitors.
Since joining Matter in 2006, Mendo has managed and executed a variety of consumer-facing and business-to-business programs that blend traditional media relations with video campaigns, events and social media activations aimed at generating buzz among influencers. He currently oversees all PR and social programs for Fortune 10 drugstore giant CVS Health, and also manages Matter’s media relations and creative work with global lighting technology company OSRAM SYLVANIA.
Before coming to Matter, Mendo planned creative events for various groups ranging from audio-visual equipment manufacturers to cultural diversity organizations. He also worked as a freelance writer for Toshiba Business Solutions, New York. A native of Buffalo, NY who swears it is very “up and coming,” Mendo holds a B.A. in Communications/PR with a focus in writing from St. John Fisher College, and watches nearly everything Bravo airs on TV – even the delightfully dreadful Real Housewives franchises.Contact

Based in Boston, Ryan Lilly leads the healthcare practice at Matter, supporting teams across five offices nationwide and a fast-growing client portfolio. With over a decade of experience working with healthcare organizations of all shapes, sizes and stages, Lilly is an adept strategic consultant and communicator, who consistently delivers high impact, business driving results for the brands he supports. Over the course of his career, Lilly has lead comprehensive PR and marketing programs for hospitals, health networks, insurers, health IT vendors and consumer health brands.
As head of our Portland office, Meghan brings both an eye for detail and clarity of strategic vision to every client program. Her storytelling, media relations, and messaging strategy skills have delivered exceptional results for brands from Netflix and Nordstrom to Avid Technologies, Acme Packets (now part of Oracle), Eli Lilly and Company, and the Business Roundtable.

With a deep corporate communications background, Mallory Kuno is a Vice President leading Matter’s Providence office. She brings more than 10 years of experience to her clients’ communications strategies and manages programs in a wide range of industries – from B2B software to healthcare to emerging fintech – and sizes – from startups raising funding to established public companies looking to drive thought leadership.
Mallory was previously a Vice President at Edelman New York, leading corporate communications programs for a number of multinational tech clients. A storyteller at heart, she developed a particular knack for helping companies manage messaging and strategy through moments of significant transition, including HP’s corporate turnaround, eBay’s PayPal spinoff and CVS Health’s rebranding as a technology company.Contact
