Situation

NanoSphere Health was preparing to launch its new NanoSerum– a topical treatment that allows cannabis to be rapidly absorbed providing relief from pain, inflammation and anxiety– in the Colorado market. The Matter team was tasked with raising NanoSphere’s brand awareness with both local and cannabis press to support the roll-out.

Strategy

Matter aimed to spotlight NanoSphere with target press thought strategic media relations efforts, all with the goal of raising NanoSphere’s profile in the industry and locally. Specific tactics included:

  • Placing contributed thought-leadership content from inventor and Director, Dr. Richard Kaufman
  • Getting product into the hands of reporters to drive first-hand trial
  • Leveraging industry trends to pitch NanoSphere spokespeople as sources on active topics in the space, including cannabis as a solution to the opioid crisis
  • Drafting and delivering press release content for company and investor announcements, and pitching to key media targets
  • Working with NanoSphere thought leaders to develop story ideas and pitch angles for Matter to use in media relations and planning

Results

Matter secured coverage and established key relationships with target media for Nanosphere during the pivotal launch period.

This included thought leadership content from Dr. Kaufman appearing in industry publications like The Fresh Toast and The Leaf Online. Additionally, Matter also coordinated a two-part interview with the Direct Cannabis Network and contributed Nanosphere commentary to a Denver Westword article on cannabis and the opioid crisis.
