In fact, the industry is hiring even more journalists dedicated to covering the latest in AI and technology — ensuring readers never miss a beat.

Shirin Ghaffary will be joining the organization in September as a reporter covering AI ethics and policy. Shirin, who currently covers tech at Vox, will also be starting a weekly newsletter to help readers understand the world of AI.

Seth Fiegerman is starting his role as editor and “pilot” of Bloomberg’s expanding AI coverage. Previously, Seth was a tech editor at CNN, covering companies and products shaping the technology industry.

Leon Yin is also joining the tech team, covering all things data. In his previous role at The Markup, Leon focused on AI, datasets and algorithm accountability.

Eliza Gkritsi will now cover the crypto and AI beat as senior reporter. Over the last two years, Gkritsi worked as a reporter at TechNode, where she covered data mining.

Gizmodo

Veteran technology journalist Dan Ackerman has been appointed as the new editor-in-chief at Gizmodo. Previously, he spent almost three years at the consumer technology publication CNET as an editorial director, where he covered computers and gaming hardware.

The Information

Stephanie Palazzolo will now oversee a newsletter focused on artificial intelligence – covering everything from how AI is changing industries, boosting some companies and maiming others to how it’s upsetting the power balance in the technology sector. Palazzolo joins The Information from Insider, where she covered AI startups.

Mohar Chatterjee has been appointed as the reporter covering AI and technology. She has worked as a fellow at the magazine since June 2022 and was previously a senior research and data fellow for the Brown Institute for Media Innovation.

Max Cherney joins the global tech team as a tech correspondent based in San Francisco. Most recently, he was a senior reporter at the Silicon Valley Business Journal, where he covered public technology companies.
