Situation

RF industry giants TriQuint Semiconductor and RF Micro Devices merged in January 2015 to make Qorvo. When the company came to Matter for PR support through the merger and rebranding, Matter began working with Qorvo’s internal marketing team to re-establish brand trust and build recognition for the new company as a leader in RF solutions for the smartphone, wireless infrastructure and defense industries.

Strategy

Matter designed a dynamic, evolving PR program that eventually represented Qorvo’s Corporate, Mobile, Infrastructure and Defense, and Wireless Connectivity business units. The program managed news announcements, thought leadership initiatives, social media management, content creation, award promotion, trade show support and annual analysis/reporting.

Results

Between 2015 and 2020, Matter secured over 650 pieces of coverage and over 50 byline placements, positioning Qorvo as the lead in share of voice against key competitors across multiple keywords. Through organic content and ongoing social advertising campaigns, Matter grew Qorvo’s social following by an average of 55% across all platforms. Matter also supported Qorvo with M&A activities, including the acquisition of GreenPeak Technologies and Active-Semi International.
